Angelo Gaja, Piemonte

Angelo Gaja is the largest private owner of vineyards in the Barbaresco area. With a degree in enology, he is one of the founders of the new wave Barbaresco winemakers. In fact, he was the first to age Nebbiolo wine in small French oak, something that old-style winemakers thought of as a sin. Gaja wines today are the most sought after; we are lucky to be able to offer a great selection of a few of his wines. Enjoy!

Italian Dessert Wines

Moscato D’Asti, Coppo                      half bottle 32.
The aroma is refreshing and delicate with scents of peach, pear and the characteristic fragrance of Moscato. An elegant, lightly sweet  sparkling wine.
Vin Santo, Castellare 375ml            half bottle 60.
Brilliant amber color. The nose is clean with hints of vanilla, banana, and chocolate. It tends towards sweetness on the palate, with great structure, rich flavors and an exceptional finish.
Ora da Re, Luigi Veronelli  1932     500 ml 1,500
This unique vintage of 1932 Marsala wine from Sicily was sampled in 2002 and released as a special tribute to the winery. This bottle is no. 9 of 100 produced.  The wine has a smooth texture of a fine medium sherry with notes of caramel and toasted nuts. A beautiful and special wine.
